Elizabeth was born on July 28th, 1795 in Prescot and her baptism took place there on August 26th, 1795.1  Elizabeth's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Elizabeth Garswood.  Her paternal grandparents were Ralph Mather and Ann Thompson. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Ralph, Thomas, William, William, William, Margaret, John, Mary, Ann, Ellen and Mary.
