Joseph Mather

Joseph was born in 1827 in Middleton and his baptism took place on September 9th, 1827 in Heywood.¹²

Joseph's father was John Mather and his mother was Ann Manock. His paternal grandparents were Bold (Bould) Mather and Alice Taylor. He had five brothers and five sisters, named James, Moses, John, <male>, Samuel, Mary, Alice, Sarah, Ann and Jane. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.
