Originally thought to have died at Anderton in 1788, but if this is the John from Standish than married Ann Eckersley, then it can't be this John. There are many possible John's, and this death is likely an illegitimate infant as "father" is Ellen.

Feb 1775, Son John was born at Kearsley before the parents married. Both parents are fully named.
17 Jul 1775, John Mather, a weaver of Standish Parish married Ann Eckersley of Deane by licence. It is likely it is this John as his siblings married at Standish, but Ann was from Deane Parish so was married in her parish.
Between 1775 and 1781, four of John's siblings married at Standish.
John may have had a borther James (1757-1794) who married Isobel Wilkinson and also had a son named "Bould".
