5 July 1781 Alice Mather married John Atherton at St Wilfred, Standish. There appear to be no children (John Atherton from Blackrod who married Betty Edge in 1877 at Deane is another family).
John may have died as in 1784, Alice Atherton married John Scoulcroft at Standish, Lancashire
