James Mather

James was born in 1821 in Heywood and his baptism took place there on January 7th, 1821.¹²

James' father was John Mather and his mother was Ann Manock. His paternal grandparents were Bold (Bould) Mather and Alice Taylor. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Moses, John, Joseph, <male>, Samuel, Mary, Alice, Sarah, Ann and Jane. He was the second oldest of the eleven children.
