Alice was born in 1829 in Heywood and her baptism took place there on November 1st, 1829.¹

Birth Notes

Alice's father was John Mather and her mother was Ann Manock. Her paternal grandparents were Bold (Bould) Mather and Alice Taylor. She had six brothers and four sisters, named James, Moses, John, Joseph, <male>, Samuel, Mary, Sarah, Ann and Jane. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 8 in March 1837 in Middleton. She was buried on April 1st, 1837 at St. Leonard (Middleton).²²
