James Mather

James was born in 1814 in Astley.¹

James' father was Otho Mather and his mother was Rhoda Unsworth. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Eckersley. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Peter, Walter, Thomas, Ellis, Ann, Elizabeth and Hannah. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
