Hannah Mather

Hannah was born on March 19th, 1802 in Tottington and her baptism took place on April 17th, 1802 in Holcombe.¹²

  There are also Baptism Index record for Hannah, daughter to Thomas and Alice, not Ann (same day). This must be a transcription error.

Hannah's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Ann Entwistle. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Mather and Ellen Howarth. She had four brothers and four sisters, named James, Thomas, Isaac, Thomas, Alice, Ann, Elizabeth and Alice. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 55 in 1857 in Edgworth.³

  Hannah is the daughter of Thomas and Ann Mather baptised at Tottington in 1802. The family were at Isherwood Fold in 1851 and 1861. Isaac Mather her nephew (son of James) was farming there in 1871.
