James Mather

James' father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Ann Entwistle. His paternal grandparents were Peter Mather and Ellen Howarth. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Isaac, Thomas, Alice, Hannah, Ann, Elizabeth and Alice. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 21 in May 1822 in Holcombe.³
