Thomas Mather

Thomas was born in 1819 in Tottington.¹

Thomas' father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Ann Entwistle. His paternal grandparents were Peter Mather and Ellen Howarth. He had three brothers and five sisters, named James, Thomas, Isaac, Alice, Hannah, Ann, Elizabeth and Alice. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 72 in 1891 in Holcombe.²

- Thomas was the son of Thomas, both weavers.
  
  11 Jan 1840, Thomas Mather and Margaret Brown of Nuttall were married at Bury St Mary.
  
  In 1841, Thomas and Margaret Mather (both 25, cotton weavers) were living in Ramsbottom, Holcombe.
  
  In 1851 Thomas and Margaret (32 & 34) were at Tottington Lower End with James and John (8 & 2)
  
  Before 1861, the family probably emigrated to PA, USA (and returned several years later).
  
  In 1881, Thomas and Margaret (61 & 64) were at 21 Silver Street, Tottington Lower End with their son John (31)
