Peter Mather

Peter was born about 1704 in Turton.

Birth Notes
- Peter was from the Parish of Bolton when he married, probably a weaver from Turton as his first two children, Margaret and Alice, were from there when buried in 1727.

Peter's father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Margaret Greenhalgh. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, <child>, Thomas, Thomas, Mary and Margret. He died in March 1765 in Turton. His burial was on April 2nd, 1765 at Turton Chapel.¹

- Richard and Peter could be the son of Peter Mather, who died Turton 1765, (based on Peter being an uncommon name). Also, there is a baptism of Ann, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth of Turton in 1730.
  
  We know from Peter's marriage and Ann's baptism, Peter was a Weaver.
