Caroline Priestley Mather

Caroline was born in 1820 in Bolton and her christening took place on August 13th, 1820 at St. Peter's (Bolton) conducted by Curate H Richardson.¹

Caroline's father was Matthias Mather and her mother was Mary Priestley. She had six brothers and six sisters, named Samuel, Thomas, George, Mathew, Joseph, Edwin, Mary, Ellen, Rachel, Sophia, Rachel and Eliza. She was the twelfth oldest of the thirteen children. She died at the age of 82 in 1902.

General Notes
- In 1841, after their father died, sisters Rachel and Caroline Mather (aged about 20), were working together as F.S. at St George’s Terrace, Little Bolton for Thomas and Sophia Walmsley.
