Alice was born in 1876 in Adlington.¹

Birth Notes

Alice's father was Isaac Mather and her mother was Alice Hargreaves. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Amy (Amey or Emy) Worsley. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named Thomas, Thomas, James, Esther, Martha, Rachel, Margaret, Martha, Rachel and Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the eleven children.
