Agnes was born in 1825 in Blackrod and her baptism took place on January 1st, 1826 at St. Katherine (B'rod).1  Agnes' father was Nathan Mather and her mother was Alice Makinson.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Entwistle. She had three brothers and six sisters, named John, Nathan, Richard, Ann, Mary, Alice, Elizabeth, Ellen and Sarah.  She was the second youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 57 in February 1882 in Blackrod.  She was buried on March 1st, 1882 in Blackrod.2
