Abraham's father was Nathan Mather and his mother was Betty Green.  His maternal grandparents were Thomas Green and Margaret Speakman. He had three brothers and a sister, named John, Abraham, James and Peggy.  He was the second oldest of the five children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Matthew, Abraham, Thomas, Sarah, Betty and Mary.  He died at 10 months old in June 1785 in WestLeigh.  He was buried on June 27th, 1785 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).¹
