Mary was born in August 1802 in WestLeigh and her baptism took place on August 7th, 1802 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).1  Mary's father was Nathan Mather and her mother was Jane (Jenny) Birchenhead. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Matthew, Abraham, Thomas, Sarah and Betty.  She was the fourth oldest of the six children. She had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Abraham, Abraham, James and Peggy.  She died at the age of 3 in June 1806 in WestLeigh.  Her burial was on June 23rd, 1806 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).2
