Charles Hopley

Charles was born in 1770 in Shocklach and his christening took place there on February 11th, 1770.¹

Charles' father was Thomas Hopley and his mother was Catherine Lewis. His paternal grandparents were William Hopley and Anne Williams. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named William, John, Thomas, James, Robert, Samuel, Peter, Anne, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 70 in April 1840 in Shocklach. His burial was on April 5th, 1840 in Shocklach.¹

General Notes
- Charles of Shochlach Oviat was left £100 (the most of any of his brothers) by his father Thomas, so presumably favoured being the youngest at only 22 when his father died. His mother Catherine also left him £10, which was changed to £20 in the Will - suspect !
  
  Charles and William died about the same time and were buried 2 days apart.
