Death Notes
After working all winter, Daniel was told again there was no room for him. He felt badly let down and disappointed.
He seemed to have no life left for anything and in the month of July (1852) he got sick and died.
General Notes
In 1841, Daniel an Ag. Labourer and Mary Crook (35 & 30) were living at Folds, Sharples, close to Able and Mary Crook, farmers.
In early 1851 Dan left England with his children Betsy, John and Alice for America on the ship "Ellen". His wife stayed behind in Turton. The "Ellen" sailed from Liverpool on 8 January 1851, arriving in New Orleans on 14 March 1851. At some point the family became attached to the Mormon community.
They arrived at Kanesville and stayed there over a year because there was no room in the Mormon companies leaving for Salt Lake.
