Luke Crook

Luke was born on September 22nd, 1799 in Turton and his baptism took place about 1799 at Walmsley Presbyterian.¹ Luke's father was Thomas Crook and his mother was Hannah (Nanny) Walsh. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named John, James, Thomas, Joseph, Dan, Peter, Charles, Nanny, Mary and Ruth. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.

General Notes
- In 1841, Luke (40) was the sole son (probably unmarried) with his parents at Rushtons Farm, Turton.
  
  In 1851, Luke (51, unmarried) was a farmer of 43 acres at Rushtons employing one labourer.
  
  In 1861 Luke (61) was a farmer of 12 acres at High Side Farm, Turton with his sister Mary (57) a dairy made and nephew Luke (28).
