Nanny Crook 
Nanny was born on April 29th, 1790 in Turton and her baptism took place about 1790 at Walmsley Presbyterian.1 Nanny's father was Thomas Crook and her mother was Hannah (Nanny) Walsh. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named John, James, Thomas, Joseph, Luke, Dan, Peter, Charles, Mary and Ruth. She was the oldest of the eleven children.
