Abigail was born in September 1859 in Bingley.1  Abigail's father was Moses Briggs and her mother was Alice Pickles.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Briggs and Abigail Bradshaw; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Pickles and Mary Roberts. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named Mark, William, Roseanna, Harriet, Caroline, Emma, Mary, Alice and Emma.  She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 74 in January 1934 in Keighley.2

‌Abigail and Nathan were married in a religious ceremony in July 1886 in Keighley.2
