Moses was born in 1827 at Colne.1  Moses' father was Thomas Briggs and his mother was Abigail Bradshaw. He had two brothers and five sisters, named William, Thomas, Christiana, Nancy, Sarah, Mary and Martha.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 80 on March 1st, 1907 in Keighley.  He was buried in March 1907 in Bingley.2 3

‌Moses and Alice were married in a religious ceremony on June 24th, 1850 in Bingley.7   They had two sons and eight daughters, named Mark, William, Roseanna, Harriet, Caroline, Abigail, Emma, Mary, Alice and Emma.  There are no more children.
