Elizabeth was born in 1797 in Harthill and her christening took place on July 16th, 1797 at All Saints, Harthill.1 2  Elizabeth's father was Richard Brereton and her mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Haywood.  Her paternal grandparents were William Brereton and Mary Ledsham; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Haywood and Alice Gregson. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named William, Richard, Richard, John, John, Abraham, George, Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah and Kitty.  She was the third oldest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 8 on April 28th, 1805 in Harthill.  She was buried on May 1st, 1805 in Harthill.2 3
