Elizabeth, known as Betty, was born in 1772 in Leyland and her baptism took place there on November 8th, 1772.¹

Betty's father was Samuel Haywood and her mother was Alice Gregson. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Heywood and Elizabeth Smith; her maternal grandparents were Robert Gregson and Jane Gregson. She was an only child. She died at the age of 63 on December 1st, 1835 in Harthill. Her burial was on December 6th, 1838 at All Saints, Harthill.²³
