Catherine, known as Kitty, was born on June 11th, 1815 in Harthill and her christening took place there on July 9th, 1815.1  Kitty's father was Richard Brereton and her mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Haywood.  Her paternal grandparents were William Brereton and Mary Ledsham; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Haywood and Alice Gregson. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named William, Richard, Richard, John, John, Abraham, George, Thomas, Elizabeth, Mary, Elizabeth and Sarah.  She was the eleventh oldest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 48 in 1863 in Utah (UT).  Her burial was in 1863 in Utah (UT).1 1
