Sarah was born on February 6th, 1808 in Harthill and her baptism took place on March 6th, 1808 at All Saints, Harthill.1 2  Sarah's father was Richard Brereton and her mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Haywood.  Her paternal grandparents were William Brereton and Mary Ledsham; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Haywood and Alice Gregson. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named William, Richard, Richard, John, John, Abraham, George, Thomas, Elizabeth, Mary, Elizabeth and Kitty.  She was the sixth youngest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 87 on August 20th, 1895 in Utah (UT).1
