Abraham was born in 1790 in Harthill and his christening took place there on July 17th, 1790.1  Abraham's father was William Brereton and his mother was Mary Ledsham.  His paternal grandparents were Sandford Brereton and Elizabeth Dale; his maternal grandparents were Richard Ledsham and Ann Lucas. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Richard, William, George, Thomas, John, James, Samuel and Mary.  He was the youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 22 in March 1812 in Overton.  His burial was on March 28th, 1812 in Overton.2 3
