Richard was born in 1635 R Hurleston.¹

  The 1635 birth at Acton is not supported by any hard evidence, but an IGI record from FamilySearch. The closest baptism is at Church Minshull in 1621, so Richard was probably on his second marriage, aged 36 and had children till aged 55 which is still possible. There is however, a "Thomas Brewerton", son of John, baptised at Acton 4 Aug 1633

Richard's father was John Brereton and his mother was Anne Gardener. His maternal grandparents were Hugh Gardener and Jane Whitlowe. He had an adopted brother named Thomas. He died at the age of 42 in May 1677 in Acton by Nantwich. His burial was on May 24th, 1677 in Acton by Nantwich.²³

General Notes
- Richard is one of my 512 Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great (10X) Grandfathers (or 9th great-grandfather).
  
  An IGI record shows burial 24-May-1677, and names both parents. Their first two children were named after Elizabeth's parents and the next boy and girl after Richard's.
  
  The English Civil War (1642-51) may have displaced Richard, or he may have been rewarded with (or lost) land and property by Lord Brereton for his actions.
  
  In 1657, Richard Brereton "Late of Hurleston" married Elizabeth Kendrick of Swandley (Probably Swanley, Acton), in 1657. His childen were all baptised at Acton near Nantwich. Hutleston is the parish to the NW of Acton and Swanley (Bridge and House) are immediately West of Acton.
