Margaret (Peggy) Booth

Margaret, known as Peggy, was born in 1810 in Harwood and her baptism took place on July 18th, 1810 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

Peggy's father was Richard Booth and her mother was Catherine Whalley. Her paternal grandparents were Edward Booth and Betty Chadwick. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Richard, Adam, Adam, Alice, Alice, Elizabeth, Jane and Ellen. She was the third youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 43 in 1853 in Tonge-with-Haulgh.²

‌Peggy and Joseph were married in a religious ceremony on October 9th, 1831 at St. Peter's (Bolton).³ They had five sons and a daughter, named William, Adam, John, Richard, Thomas and Mary.
