Adam's father was Richard Booth and his mother was Catherine Whalley.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Booth and Betty Chadwick. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, Richard, Adam, Alice, Alice, Elizabeth, Peggy, Jane and Ellen.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 4 in June 1802 in Bolton.  He was buried on June 3rd, 1802 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹
