John Allen

John was born in 1815 in Bolton and his baptism took place on August 4th, 1816 at St. Mary (Deane).¹²

John's father was John Allen and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Partington. His paternal grandparents were Richard Allen and Rachel Knowles. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Richard, Joseph, Mary, Rachel, Betty and Ellen. He was the sixth oldest of the seven known children. He died at the age of 82 in June 1897 in Bolton.³
