Helen Shaffner

Helen was born on February 3rd, 1887.¹   Helen's father was John J. Schaffner and her mother was Harriet Jane Minich.  Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Schaffner and Phoebe Hoffman. She had seven brothers and eight sisters, named Harry George, Jacob O., Edgar, Charles, Nettie P., Marion Gilbert, Ralph, Annie Elizabeth, Katharine Nolen, Rosie, Emma E., Nora, Alice, Harriet and Bertha.  She was the fifth youngest of the sixteen children.¹
