Sallie Lucinda Mayo 
Sallie Lucinda was born on July 25th, 1855 in Pitt County, NC. Sallie Lucinda's father was Reuben Mayo and her mother was Lucinda Best. Her paternal grandfather was Frederick Mayo; her maternal grandparents were William Best and Penelope Edmondson. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Frederick A., William A., Thomas L., John, R. Hardy, Martha A., Lydia, Frances and Elizabeth. She was the youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 61 on August 4th, 1916 in W.J. Mayo Cemetery, Tarboro, NC.General Notes
