Reuben Mayo 
Reuben was born on October 17th, 1806. Reuben's father was Frederick Mayo. His paternal grandparents were John Mayo and Ann Unknown. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Stephen, Joel, Redman, Jonas, Council, Hardy, Lydia, Lucy and Mary "Polly". He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 70 on June 29th, 1877 in Pitt County, N. C. He was buried in W.J. Mayo Graveyard, Tarboro, Edgecombe County, North Carolina.-
