Elizabeth Mayo 
Elizabeth was born in 1849 in Edgecombe Co. NC. Elizabeth's father was Reuben Mayo and her mother was Lucinda Best. Her paternal grandfather was Frederick Mayo; her maternal grandparents were William Best and Penelope Edmondson. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Frederick A., William A., Thomas L., John, R. Hardy, Martha A., Lydia, Frances and Sallie Lucinda. She was the third youngest of the ten children.-
