Elizabeth was born on September 16th, 1295 in ,Tewkesbury,Gloucester,England.1   Elizabeth's father was Gilbert "The Red" de Clare Earl of Gloucester and her mother was Joan Plantagenet Princess of England.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard de Clare Earl of Gloucester and Maud De Lacy; her maternal grandparents were Edward I, "Longshanks" Plantagenet King of England and Eleanor de Castilla. She had a brother and two sisters, named Gilbert II, Eleanor and Margaret. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Thomas, Joan, Isabel and Mary.  She died at the age of 65 on November 4th, 1360 in Alton,Staffordshire,England.1
