His paternal grandparents were Richard The Red Earl of Burgh Earl of Ulster and Margaret de Guines; his maternal grandparents were Gilbert "The Red" de Clare Earl of Gloucester and Joan Plantagenet Princess of England. He had a half-sister named Isabel. He died at the age of 20 on June 6th, 1333.
