John was born about 1215 in Shere,Surrey,England.1   John's father was Geoffrey FitzPiers De Mandeville Earl of Essex and his mother was Eveline (Aveline) De Clare.  His paternal grandparents were Piers , Earl of Essex de Lutegareshale and Maud De MANDEVILLE; his maternal grandparents were Roger "The Good" de Clare and Maud (Matilda) De Saint Hillary. He had a sister named Hawise.  He was the younger of the two children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William, Warin, Maud , Countess of Essex, Maud FitzGeoffrery and Saveric.  He died on November 23rd, 1258 in Farmbridge,Essex,England.1

‌John and Isabel , Countess of Essex were married in a religious ceremony after 1230 in Of,,Essex,England.1   They had two sons and six daughters, named John, Richard, Isabel, Maud, Maud, Isabel, Avelina and Joan.
