Maud (Matilda) De was born in 1132 in Burkenham,Norfolk,England.1   Maud (Matilda) De's father was James Du Harcourt De Saint Hilary and her mother was Aveline Ales Canamor of Scotland.  Her paternal grandfather was Richard Hasculf De Saint Hillary; her maternal grandparents were Alexander the Fierce King of Scotland and Sibyl Elizabeth De Falsise Queen of Scotland.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 61 on December 24th, 1193 in Norfolk,England.  She was buried in Great Carbrooke Priory,Norfolk,England.2 1

‌Maud (Matilda) De and Roger "The Good" were married in a religious ceremony about 1153 in Dalling,Norfolk,England.  They had five sons and three daughters, named Richard, Roger, James, John, Henry, Elena, Mabel FitzPatrick and Eveline (Aveline).
