Marie was born about 1309.  Marie's father was Charles de Valois Prince of France and her mother was Maud (Matilda) De Saint Hillary.  Her paternal grandparents were Phillipe III The Bold Hardi King of France and Isabel de Aragon; her maternal grandparents were James Du Harcourt De Saint Hilary and Aveline Ales Canamor of Scotland. She had two sisters named Isabelle and Blanche. She had twelve half-brothers and thirteen half-sisters, named Charles II, Philip VI de Valois King of, Charles II "Magnanime", Louis De, Richard, Roger, James, John, Henry, Ralph, William, William IV, Marguerite De, Catherine De, Isabel De, Jeanne de, Marie De, Isabelle De, Blanche Princess Of, Jeanne, Elena, Mabel FitzPatrick, Eveline (Aveline), Avice (Agnes) and Cecily.  She died in 1331.
