Lucy Norton was born on January 8th, 1900 in Coosa Co., AL.1 Lucy Norton's father was James Alexander Miller and her mother was Emma Jane McEwen. Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Jackson Miller and Elvonea V. Logan; her maternal grandparents were George Washington McEwen and Mary Catherine Sears. She had three brothers and five sisters, named George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Rack, Ellen Cathren, Mary Maude, Martha Mable, Emma Catherine and Arsual Annette. She was the third youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 88 on February 6th, 1988 in Sylacauga, Talladega Co., AL. She was buried in Sears Chapel, Coosa Co., Rockford, AL.1 1 General Notes

Hammond - Miller
On Thursday evening of last week Mr. Knox Hammond and Miss Lucy
Miller were happily married at the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J. A. Miller,
Only a few relatives and friends and friends of the couple were
present, and in their present, Rev. C. H. Bobo in his pleasant style
spoke the words which made them man and wife.
Mr. and Mrs. Hammond are the best families of the county, and bid
fair to make life a success. They leave this week for Akron, Ohio, where
Mr. Hammond has a good position.
The editor wishes for them to have a long, happy and useful life. (1)
