1850 Federal Census of Coosa Co., AL recorded Alexander as a farmer of
750 acres.
"There were a few whites scattered in different parts of the (Coosa)
county, living among the Indians (Creeks) before the organization of the
county, but the names and locations of but few are known. Alexander and
John Logan, brothers, lived among them, probably in the neighborhood of
Hatchett Creek, above Rockford." (1) "On the west side of Hatchett Creek
and north of Rockford is the region known as Hanover beat. The settler
here who lived among the Indians were Alexander Logan and James Lindsey,
father of W. M. Lindsey."(2) "Alexander Logan lived till a few years
back in the lower part of the neighborhood, reaching a ripe age. Two
sons, John and James, lived to be men of ripe years in the community, and
other children and descendants are still in the section." (3)
