Mary was born on March 6th, 1829 in Morgan Co., AL.1 Mary's father was H. Alexander Logan and her mother was Martha Ann Smith. Her paternal grandparents were James Ellis M. Logan and Mary (?); her maternal grandparents were James Alfred Smith and Hannah Parker. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John Arron, James Alexander, Elizabeth Jane, Nancy, Martha Ann and Elvonea V.. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William Lyons Yancy, Joseph Atison, John Henry, Sr., Neal Archibald, Jefferson Alabama, Henry Alexander, Sarah Isabella, Malinda Francis and Tabitha Ann. She died at the age of 69 on January 29th, 1899 in Coosa Co., AL. She was buried in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery , Coosa Co., AL..1 1 General Notes

should be noted that her birth place was not yet a Coosa Co., AL. Her
birth place was still part of the Creek Nation. However, the 1830
Federal Census of Morgan Co., AL records the following:

The two females between 0-5 are most likely Elizabeth and Mary. Since
