HI Ron..
We're back from a delightful trip to Louisiana so let's see if I can
answer your questions! I've still not found anymore information on Daniel
McDonald except that I suspect a connection to a James McDonald in /near
Charleston in abt. 1775.I think it is strange that we have solid evidence
of his birth date (family Bible) April 2, 1811 in either Tenessee or
South Carolina. One census says one, the next, the other; which might
mean he was born somewhere in between as counties and states lines
changed. I think. He died March 23, 1859 in Coosa County, AL. After that
Mary or "Polly" as she apparently was known, moved her whole brood of
eight or nine to Texas. Both Mary and her sister, Nancy Graham, are
buried in/near Mexia.
Their children were: Adeline J., James Edgar, Leonille LInmore (Lee);
Constanivus Lafayette (Dick); Mary Elizabeth, William Allen, Daniel
Leeroy, Augustus DUnken (Gus) and Edward. Their descendants are all over
central Texas! Both MAry and her sister, Nancy Graham, are buried in/near
Mexia.
Don't know what you have or are interested in but I can provide lots of
detail on the descendants. best, June (sent to me, Ron Bridges, via
e-mail on 28 Mar 2003.
