John H. was born about 1737 in Caroline Co., VA.1 John H.'s father was John Buckner and his mother was Sarah Buckner. His paternal grandparents were Richard Buckner and Elizabeth Cooke; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Buckner and Sarah Morgan. He had a brother and a sister, named Jesse and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died in December 1820 in Jones Co., GA.1 General Notes

John was in Rowan Co., NC in 1790 and his household consisted of 1 male
over 16, 1 male under 16, and 2 females. He was in Georgia by 1792 and
in Hancock Co., GA by 1796.

Ronald: My earliest known Cook ancestor was Francis Cook b. 2719 York Co,
VA
(Rockingham Co?) married Rachel ? He died betwen 1804-1812 Elbert Co, GA.
I am descended from his son Thomas Cook b.1752 Hanover Co, VA died 1841
Henry Co, GA married Elizabeth Reagan 1776 recorded Guilford Co, NC. And
thru their son Fenton Cook b.1795 died 1863 Tallapoosa Co, Ala. Fenton
married Emily Schofield in Elbert Co, Ga. You did not mention the
approximate birth date for your John Cook. Tell what years he lived where
and I will go thru my Cook box and see if I can find anything about him.
My Buckner line is first known JOHN Buckner died 1820 Jones Co, GA and
from his son William Buckner b.1765 died 1799 Hancock Co, Ga. His
daughter Elizabeth married James Rush and they both died Tallapoosa Co,
