Richard was Clerk of Essex County in 1703; member of the House of
Burgesses in 1713. In 1720 living King + Queen County and in 1730 a
planter in Caroline County. (Winifred Ellis Suman)
The Buckners of Virginia", Edited by William Armstrong Crozier, published
1907, page 34, "Richard Buckner is said to have married Elizabeth Cooke
of Gloucester Co., but their is no documentary evidence to prove this
assertion. It is believed that Richard's daughter, Elizabeth Buckner,
also married a Cooke, viz: Mordecai Cooke-son of Mordecai Cooke the
immigrant-who was Sheriff of Gloucester in 1698,"

Mary, That is Crozier's 1907 edition.Cost by credit card including
shipping --Hard cover $54.00. There is a later book out ,1998 edition by
Naomi Ellis Buckner called Buckner's from England to America. I guess you
could call it a sequel to Crozier's.It picks up where Crozier left off
,fills in some of the blanks especially on John and Sarah Buckner. Her
