John Marion Sparks 
John Marion was born on June 26th, 1831 in Yazoo Co., Ms. John Marion's father was Richard Sparks and his mother was Elizabeth May Cooper. His paternal grandparents were William C Sparks and Mary Polly Fielder; his maternal grandparents were REV WILLIAM COOPER and ELIZABETH SCOTT. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William Fielder Billy, James Hawkins, Stephen Franklin, Andrew Jackson, Thomas Benton, Mary Ann, Elizabeth C and Sarah Jane. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 77 on April 17th, 1909.General Notes
