Mary Ann was born in 1813 in <Marion Co, Mississippi>. Mary Ann's father was Richard Sparks and her mother was Elizabeth May Cooper. Her paternal grandparents were William C Sparks and Mary Polly Fielder; her maternal grandparents were REV WILLIAM COOPER and ELIZABETH SCOTT. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William Fielder Billy, James Hawkins, Stephen Franklin, Andrew Jackson, Thomas Benton, John Marion, Elizabeth C and Sarah Jane.
