Newel Waltern Sparks 
Newel Waltern was born on September 20th, 1858. Newel Waltern's father was John Marion Sparks and his mother was Martha Amanda (ann) Crain. His paternal grandparents were Richard Sparks and Elizabeth May Cooper; his maternal grandparents were William Crain and Nancy Easom Whitaker. He had a brother and a sister, named William Marion and Idora May. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at 4 months old on February 8th, 1859 in Nacogdoches Co., TX. He was buried in Old North Church Cemetary, Nacogdoches,TX.-
