Robert was born about 1340 in Dundonald Castle,Irvine,Ayrshire,Scotland.1   Robert's father was King Robert II Stewart Of Scotland, Earl Of Atholl and his mother was Elizabeth Mure Of Rowallon.  His paternal grandparents were High Steward Walter Stewart Of Scotland and Princess Marjory De Brus Of Scotland; his maternal grandparents were Sir Adam Mure and Janet Mure. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Robert John III, Alexander, Margaret, Jean (Joan) and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named David, Isabel, Elizabeth Catherine and Edigia Egidia Jill.  He died on September 2nd, 1420 in Doune Castle,Stirlingshire,Scotland.1 


Robert's first family with Countess Margaret Graham Of Menteith

‌Robert and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony on December 9th, 1361 in 4th husband 1st wife (dispensation date).1   They had a son and two daughters, named Murdach, Margaret Maris and Joan.


Robert's second family with Muriel Keith

‌Robert and Muriel were married in a religious ceremony in May 1380 in 1st husband 2nd wife - papal dispensation date.2   They had a son and a daughter, named John and Marjory Marcelline.
